The Lawn Hotel, Reading

The hotel's rooms were small and in need of refurbishment, but it was manageable. The service I experienced was rude and unprofessional. The location wasn't ideal, but acceptable for a business trip. The dining experience was chaotic, reminiscent of 'Fawlty Towers'.

The hotel is a mixed bag – offering lovely continental breakfast and a room ambiance reminiscent of a blend between a funeral parlour and Eastern Europe in the Soviet era. While manageable, the atmosphere needs improvement. The service is top-notch, especially the staff who served on the evenings of the 9th and 10th of September. However, the absence of staff for the duration of our stay was concerning. The location is good for those in the Reading area for work, but it's a bit far from the center and station. The dining experience varied from warm coffee and cereal choices to a perfectly cooked full English breakfast, although somewhat chaotic. Overall, the hotel had its ups and downs, offering unique experiences for guests.
